FEAR vs COURAGE

As my 7 year old daughter stood at the edge of making a decision, I saw the angst and tension on her face, and as I resonated with her struggle, I knew what was stopping her.....FEAR!

Seeing this, I bent down and asked if she was making her decision from FEAR or COURAGE? She squished up her face and said "what do you mean daddy?" "Well honey, in every decision, you either let courage or fear make your choice." "So how do I get rid of the fear?" she asked. "You don't get rid of fear sweetie, you teach it to trust your courage." "Well, how am I supposed to do that?" "like this" I said "your courage bends down and picks up your fear, like I pick you up, hugs it in close and tells your fear everything will be fine, and when your fear feels safe, it steps aside and allows your courage to lead the way."

"Does that mean my courage and fear live inside me, side by side, and when I use my courage, fear will not stop me anymore?" "You got it!" I said.

With that, her angst was replaced with a beaming smile, her slumped posture replaced with strong broad shoulders and she made her decision to the problem that plagued her moments earlier.

PATIENCE,not just a virtue; A REQUIREMENT!

Early October, a young lady and her little bounding pup, Rover, set out for their usual walk, however, this trip, delivered a life lesson that was anything but usual.
