FAMILY- The Power of Connection

I stood in line at a local business copy store the other day, and although I was feeling anxious, I took a moment and watched a young girl sitting at a nearby table. As she surrounded herself with her primitive tools (aka Crayons, markers and Paper), she drew, doodled and scribbled, with one thought in mind, do my best then show it to mommy!
After each new section was complete, she would turn to her patient mom and say, " can you see the color" "do you like it" and "I made this for you" and with each question, her mom's smile grew and she said " oh honey you are an amazing drawer," "where did you get the idea to use such amazing colors?"

I wasn't quite sure who was more content, the budding young artist, or the proud mom, and one thing was clear; their connection made the moment powerful!

Watching this magical moment reminded me; A mom and dad are a child's greatest mentor and strongest pillar for success.

Giving, sharing and caring are all important roles of a parent, and always remember the "POWER OF CONNECTION!"

Dream It...
Plan It...
Execute It...

  1. Hey Dan-

Thank you for the reminder of the impact we have on our children. What may seem small moments, may well be those defining big moments for a child.

What I loved about you watching this mother-child moment, is you were so present to their connection.

Keep noticing and keep writing! This is wonderful stuff.

  2. Excellent Dan!!

I especially look for the innocence and wonder in my daughters' eyes when they are completing any task, especially when it involves myself as an involved parent. The unconditional love of our children is truly surpassed by NOTHING :))
